Unstable Version

Current Unstable Version: 0.9.0 (older than stable!)
Current Stable Version: 0.9.1

Monitor the status of the builds here

As I have only just released 0.9.0, there is currently no unstable version.

Before full release of a new Gnome15 version, I intend to start making an “unstable” version available. This is to help ensure there are no serious bugs exist before updates are pushed out to all current users.

As with the full release, there are two ways to install this version. Either from the source archive(s), or using packages. For packages, special unstable repositories have been set up for all supported distributions, and packages should be downloaded from there.

Because I often will not update the package versions when publishing new unstable version, to get the newest version it is safest to un-install the previous version first.

Un-installing Previous Version

For Debian Based Distributions (supported versions of Debian,Ubuntu,Mint)

sudo apt-get purge 'gnome15*'
sudo apt-get autoremove #optional, removed unused dependencies

For other distributions, use the appropriate package manager to remove all packages that start with gnome15.

Source Release

 1. Download the required files from the Download section at the end of this page.
 2. Compile and install using the same instruction as on the Source Download page, including making sure you have all the other pre-requisites.

Packaged Release

 1. If you have not done so already, follow the instructions appropriate for your distribution on the Package Downloads page, but DO NOT actually install Gnome15 yet.
 2. Before actually installing, you need to add a second package source. This is because not all required packages are in the unstable repository, only the ones that differ. Exactly how you do this will depend on the distribution, but the general idea is the repository location is the same but with -unstable tagged on the end.

For Redhat Based Distributions (supported versions of Fedora,Mandriva)

wget -O /etc/yum.repos.d/gnome15-unstable.repo \
 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tanktarta:/gnome15-unstable/Fedora_17/home:tanktarta:gnome15-unstable.repo

** replace Fedora_17 with whatever the distribution name you used to when adding the stable repository.

For Debian Based Distributions (supported versions of Debian,Ubuntu,Mint)

sudo sh -c "echo deb http://www.gnome15.org/$(lsb_release -cs)-unstable ./ >> /etc/apt/sources.list"
sudo apt-get update

For openSUSE 12.1 and 11.4

Use this link for 12.1 or this one for 11.4

Unstable Source Downloads
